Hopefully Mom and I will go see an apt in this building in Long Beach,NY.
It is a 3 bd/2bth. It has a view of the Atlantic Ocean, and pets are allowed. Parking available, Central air conditioning and washer/dryer in the apt. There is a deck which my mom would love. It is right off the boardwalk.
It is expensive to rent in Long Beach but with me living with my folks it is doable. It will be available December 2006.
I have two agents working on finding something.
We shall see.

Why not consider an Active 55 or "resort condo" to move to? Not only is it YOURS, and the mortgage would equal or be even less than rent per month. They're mostly gated communities, have health spas/fitness facilities and may be just what you and your folks may want at this point. The transcripts I work on for "my former employer" are in regards to their security system dealers all over the company and their work with these types of places. I know they're starting to pop up all over The Island as well. This way, you don't have to worry about other people's crap - it's YOUR place. I know there are a few on Merrick Ave. in East Meadow and they're popping up all over Westbury as well. It may be worth talking to a real estate agent about it.
Angela,
It is a nice idea but for two things
I havent reached 55 yet, but I do feel about 90 at the moment,
and
I am not too sure after a year if I want to stay in New York.
I have talked about moving down to my bro in Virginia to watch my nieces grow up and it seems that I am getting closer and closer to making that a reality.
Thanks for the idea though!!
:)
Oh, I know, the age thing, but they DO have younger people, such as your self, in these types of communities. And the area you're thinking of moving to, which would probably be good for you health-wise, has these types of condos at about half the price. I mean, they have every amenity available to make life more relaxed and it may be good to find a place where you can kick back for once!
